Checking blood glucose, a waste of time?
An interesting bit of research sited by The Heath Behaviors News Service,
http://www.cfah.org/hbns/archives/getDocument.cfm?documentID=22473
suggests that for type 2’s not on insulin, testing is expensive and doesn’t make much of a difference with hba1c results.
However the most interesting part of this article was the responses at the bottom of the webpage. Most people with diabetes would state that it is beneficial, not only does it help to keep them on track and prevent long term complications, it also helps them to pick up other issues too, like an infection, which has caused their BG to spike. I would like to point out that BG testing is beneficial, if you know what to do the results and how to make important changes.
