Exercise is only one part of weight-loss equation, experts say.
Exercise plays a role in weight loss but it is a limited one without accompanying dietary and lifestyle changes, said Jonathan Ross of the American Council on Exercise. Exercise physiologist Joseph Donnelly said exercise guidelines calling for 150 minutes of exercise per week are aimed at cardiovascular fitness and that studies suggest that up to 300 minutes may be needed for weight loss.
